Dangers of Smoking Is a Suicide Risk

For those of you lovers of cigarettes, is never thought in mind you suicidal? Based on recent research, men who smoked at least 15 cigarettes per day tend to be at risk fourfold to commit suicide. According to a report published in the American Journal of Public Health revealed behwa May edition suicide risk increases with increasing number of cigarettes smoked per day. The relationship between smoking and suicide remain constant regardless of age, marriage stastus, body mass index, exercise habits, record kaknker sufferers and consumption of alcohol and coffee.
 
The researchers explain that the relationship between smoking and suicide is indirect, meaning that smokers tend to have other risk factors for suicide. For example, smokers tend to suffer from depression and schizophrenia to use alcohol and drugs. Smokers also tend to suffer from cancer and isolated social environment and marriage compared with nonsmokers. "These characteristics will give effect to the individual person to perform smoking and suicide," Dr. Matthew Miller of the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston Massachustts, and colleagues. 

There are more than   500 men who participated in the study for 8 years. Most of the men are white Americans with a professional career. From the results of the study   indicate that smokers tend to prefer to drink coffee, not married, drank a lot of alcohol, lack of exercise and cancer risk than non-smokers. 

This trend will be more common among smokers and at least would appear among former smokers. In the study noted that their findings should be examined carefully, when suicide is relatively rare and smoking are relatively much done by the society in the US. Therefore, it is not appropriate to interpret smoke as the only clinically important cause of suicide.
